Woman’s face fractured in alleged Sydney road rage incident

A woman has suffered facial fractures after a man allegedly punched her in the face when she honked her horn at him at an intersection in Sydney’s south-west, police say.

Tori Lee, 31, was driving through Campbelltown between 5.45pm and 5.55pm on Saturday when she stopped at the intersection of Blaxland Road and Campbelltown Road.

Lee told police that she honked her horn at a black Mitsubishi sedan in front of her when it did not move, and the driver got out of his car and punched her in the face.

The man then allegedly attempted to drag her from her vehicle before she was able to drive away. She received medical assistance at Campbelltown Hospital.

In a video posted to TikTok, Lee said she rolled her window down to speak with the angry man, and turned to lower the volume of her music before he allegedly punched her face.

“As I turn around I just feel a blunt force hit my face. My glasses flew off into the back and I felt instantly that there was something wrong with my nose and I just started bleeding profusely out of my nose,” she said in the post from Wednesday.

“I looked up at him and he was smiling like he was very proud of himself and nodding and trying to convince me to get out of the car.”

Lee has since undergone surgery for multiple facial fractures at Liverpool Hospital.

Detective Inspector Andrew Mackay said there was “certainly no violence from (Lee) at all”.

“It’s very shocking, it’s disgusting behaviour ... we take all incidents of violence very seriously,” he said.

Mackay urged anyone who witnessed the alleged offence, had dashcam footage or knew more to contact police.

“There’s no CCTV cameras at the exact intersection, but there are others along the road and we have detectives out canvassing for footage,” Mackay said.

“Someone will have seen what occurred, it was just before 6pm on a Saturday, it’s a busy intersection with a lot of cars around, I need the public’s help.

“The young lady is doing OK, but she’s very much affected. She hasn’t been able to work this week and it’s playing significantly on her mind.”

The man is described as Pacific Islander in appearance and six-foot tall. He had his hair in a top bun and a tattoo on his left arm, and at the time was wearing a white shirt and shorts.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Campbelltown police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
